The art scene in Trois-Rivières
Trois-Rivières hosts the Biennale internationale d’estampe contemporaine, which makes the city a meeting point for printmakers from Quebec and abroad. If you are drawn to prints, it is an ideal place to see the full range of techniques, from woodcut to screen printing, and to discover artists who pull their own editions by hand in their studios.
The historic downtown around rue des Forges brings together cafés, shops and cultural venues. Musée POP, devoted to Quebec popular culture, regularly makes room for artists in its exhibitions, and the Galerie d’art du Parc, set in the Manoir de Tonnancour, has been showing local artists for decades. Each fall, the Festival international de la poésie is a reminder that the city also sees itself as a capital of words.
With Artblr, you can discover artists from Trois-Rivières and the Mauricie and contact them directly. Ask about a print’s edition size, how it is framed or what shipping costs, and arrange a visit to see the work up close. Direct contact is commission-free.
