Terms of use

Last updated: October 12, 2026

About these terms

Artblr (artblr.com) is an international art marketplace operated by DFlunk Inc., a company based in Quebec, Canada. It lets artists and galleries showcase their work, and lets art lovers discover artworks, contact artists and buy art.

By using Artblr, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot be waived.

Your account

Artblr offers three types of accounts: art lover (always free), artist and gallery. You can also write to an artist without an account, using just your name and email address.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your password confidential. You’re responsible for what happens through your account. If you think someone is using it without your permission, let us know right away.

You can delete your account at any time from the “Privacy and data” page.

Artist plans and subscriptions

Artists can choose one of the following plans:

  • Free: up to 5 artworks, at no cost;
  • Pro: $4.99 a month, unlimited artworks;
  • Gallery: $14.99 a month, a gallery space and tools for galleries.

Billing, trial and cancellation

New artists get a free 30-day Pro trial. Subscriptions are billed monthly, plus applicable taxes, and renew automatically until cancelled.

You can cancel at any time from your account. Your Pro plan stays active until the end of the month you’ve already paid for.

If you then move back to the free plan, all your published artworks stay visible; only adding new artworks beyond the free limit is blocked.

Artist responsibilities

By publishing an artwork, the artist (or gallery) confirms they have the right to show and sell it.

  • They are responsible for the authenticity of their artworks.
  • They are responsible for accurate descriptions: medium, dimensions, condition, price and availability.
  • They are responsible for their tax obligations, including any sales taxes that apply to their sales.
  • They answer buyers in good faith and ship sold artworks with care.

Direct-contact sales

A buyer and an artist can make a deal directly, through Artblr’s messaging or otherwise. Artblr charges no commission (0%) on these sales.

In that case, Artblr is not a party to the sale. Payment, delivery and any returns are settled between the buyer and the artist, and the Artblr guarantee doesn’t apply.

Online sales with the Artblr guarantee

Artworks can also be bought online on Artblr. A free account is required so you can track delivery, confirm receipt and, if needed, request a return.

The buyer pays securely through Stripe. Funds are held until delivery. The buyer then has 14 days after delivery to request a return if the artwork doesn’t match its description. Return shipping costs are paid by the artist.

Once the guarantee period ends without a return request, the artist is paid, less an 8% commission charged to the artist. A return request puts the payout on hold until it’s resolved.

Offers

A buyer can offer an amount for an artwork that’s for sale, and the artist can accept, decline or make a counter-offer. Each offer is valid for 72 hours.

An accepted offer only sets the price. Payment and delivery are then arranged either directly or through an online sale with the Artblr guarantee.

Certificates of authenticity

Certificates of authenticity are issued by the artist, who is responsible for them. Each certificate has a QR code that leads to a public verification page.

Artblr only verifies that the certificate was issued from the artist’s account. Artblr does not appraise artworks and makes no statement about their authenticity or value.

Intellectual property

Artists keep ownership of their artworks and their copyright. Publishing on Artblr doesn’t transfer any of these rights.

By publishing images, the artist grants DFlunk Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and adapt them (for example, in different formats) to run and promote Artblr, including in the newsletter and on social media. This licence ends when the artwork or account is deleted, except for copies already distributed.

The Artblr name, the site and its design belong to DFlunk Inc.

Prohibited content and behaviour

On Artblr, you may not publish or do any of the following:

  • copies or reproductions presented as originals, or works you don’t hold the rights to;
  • scams, fake payments or any attempt at fraud;
  • harassment, threats or hateful content;
  • any illegal content;
  • AI-generated works without clearly saying so;
  • spam or unsolicited advertising messages.

Reporting and moderation

Anyone can report an artwork, profile or message that seems to break these terms. Our team reviews every report.

We may hide content, limit certain features or suspend an account that doesn’t follow these terms. Suspending an account signs it out everywhere and hides its profiles. If you believe a decision was a mistake, contact us.

Liability

We do our best to keep Artblr running smoothly and without interruption, but we can’t guarantee it at all times.

Artists are responsible for their artworks, their descriptions and any sales made through direct contact. To the extent permitted by law, Artblr is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the site or from a sale it isn’t a party to.

These limits don’t apply to intentional or gross fault on our part, or to bodily or moral injury, and they don’t reduce the rights consumers have under the Consumer Protection Act.

Changes, governing law and contact

We may change these terms. We’ll notify you by email or on the site at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. If you don’t accept the new terms, you can stop using Artblr and delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Quebec have jurisdiction, without limiting a consumer’s right to bring proceedings in the court of their place of residence.
