******** Bio Born in 1972, in Montreal, I worked as a beautician and make-up artist at the Lise Watier Institute from 1993 to 2001, then headed into administrative office work and finally worked in human resources at the Quebec Public Service. I started drawing and painting in 1998 exploring oil painting, charcoal and figurative pastel and participating in a few workshops. This step was very personal and my pleasure was to empty my mind. I exhibited my work only at home as decoration. I put visual art aside for a few years focusing instead on martial arts (karate) and my role as a mother. I took my brushes during a sick leave to treat breast cancer and I rediscovered this art with great happiness in 2015, but more seriously since 2017. I like to say that I am now a rising artist. Artistic approach I explored several mediums to finally found my style. I work now mainly acrylic painting. I particularly like working on textures. I almost always start a canvas with pasta that will give the texture and then I let myself be guided by the shapes and then apply the colors according to my mood of the moment. My initial inspirations are the faces and the human body, sometimes as a whole, sometimes by only painting a part of the body or the face. I have a soft spot for the eyes and hats without being able to explain why! Other times, I just love to let myself be guided by my emotions by depositing the color on the canvas in an abstract way. I leave my emotions guided my creations, that it is for the texture but especially for the color, it is very liberating for me. I love the vibrant colors but sometimes my emotions are darker and can easily understand in what spirit I was at the time of my creation through the colors of my works.
