I am a Mumbai-based artist, script writer and film maker. Figuratives, intense angst, cerebral logic, tantra and a bright wonder imbue my works – acrylics and oils on canvas and paper, charcoal, multimedia/animation, acrylics, art installations, large wall murals, short films, photography and poetry. The idiom I use is intensely personal. By touching on universal issues of the psyche and of experience, I attempt to relate to others through a brave new artistic expression that employs human experience as commentary on man’s evolution. I have exhibited my acrylics Triumph of Action at the Art Plaza in Mumbai in 2010, photographs – Bordering on Parsiana at the KGAF 2011, along with Art Installation, Fenester – The Worlds of Possibility. This installation project takes a holistic and fantastic look at the possibilities of windows, in an unconventional manner. He has earlier showcased his short film Chocolate Xcess at the KGAF 2010, exhibited graphics for a show A Murder of Crows at the KGAF 2004. His two series of paintings Triumph of Action I & II were showcased at Mood Indigo Festival 2011 at IIT Bombay, as well as a mammoth 18’ x 25 ‘ wall mural. His installations were selected at the IFAA Arts Festival in Indore, Jan. 2011. He has exhibited his Art Installation, The Incredibly Big Bang! at the KGAF 2012 as well. I have set up Art Installations at IIT Mood Indigo 2013, TechFest 2015, Pune Biennale 2015, Indian Art Festival 2015, Symphony, 2015, Gallery at Hauz Khas 2016, etc. Artists Statement: “Figuratives, intense angst, cerebral logic, tantra and a bright wonder imbue my works – oils on canvas, charcoal, multimedia/animation, acrylics, installations, wall murals, fiber glass… Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Michelangelo have been my inspirations – especially Da Vinci, for his versatility and ability to fuse various disciplines into art. Other influences are of the Bombay School of Artists, M F Husain, Raza and Tyeb Mehta. The idiom I use is intensely personal. By touching on universal issues of the psyche and of experience, I attempt to relate to others through my painting. I have enjoyed working on a video installation for German artist Friedmann in 2007. I’m keenly motivated to make a difference. Born on May 21, 1958, I am an MA in English & American literature, Public Relations, a creative adman, now a creative & digital marketing consultant, writing and painting on commission.
