Cláudia Matoos

She’s an artist who lives in Portugal. Her work in visual arts is the result of research and reflections about "Art and Territory". Cláudia Matoos develops some interventions in the territory, but there is also something she conceptualizes as "the random's aesthetics". Her paintings aims to reflect about the “Archeology of Absence” as a concept which reveals: the presence of absence, the vestiges found in a landscape and the relationship between human being and this place. Ph.D. in Visual Arts at School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - EBA - UFRJ, Brazil, in the research area of Image and Culture. Researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon - CIEBA. Artist and a guest assistant in course of Museology and Museography Master, she taught also in the drawing area, both at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, FBAUL - PT. Master of Science of Religion from Federal University of Juiz de Fora – UFJF, Bachelor of Arts at Federal University of Juiz de Fora -UFJF, Brazil. As an artist, she held several solo and collective international exhibitions. She has participated in national and international conferences as a researcher and her area of operation includes themes in arts, image, territory and Brazilian Culture.
