The hunt

The name of the painting is “The Hunt”, which associates to the tracking of the trail of the hunted animal. In the context of this painting, however, it refers to the spiritual search and tracking of the hidden traces of the inner dynamics of the psyche. For the figure of a woman, the hunting is a ritual that leads her into a landscape symbolizing her psychological space. The figures of the animals and the human figure are in dynamic interaction through which their meaning and characteristics interweave. These two figures are only apparently in passing. They subordinate each other, adopting the virtues of one another, hunting between passion and wildness, taming and melancholy.
