About
My work is defined as a mental landscape, full of creations, situations, tensions and events. This genesis is full of intuitive expressiveness , a chaos that boils , which seek to contain drawing and painting to make sense of this imaginary. I can talk about a parallel dimension with its own space and lighting laws, which has always been in the mind but in an unconscious level, and that´s what I reveal through these paintings called "INTERFACES". Each painting it´s a connection between the world of the mind and the real world. There is a language , a message that emanates from these dimensions ,which cannot be interpreted from the human state. They are clamoring voices fighting for not be lost in the immensity of the canvas and I pretend to be the interpreter of those manifestations.
Curatorial text from Exhibition in Contemporary Art Gallery "Espacio O" (May 2016) by international Visual Artist Arturo Duclos:
"Abysses and peaks, sky and earth, united in delirium, a constructive art work of Alejandro Mendez who solves an harmonized chaos between angels and demons in intricate visceral weavings that draws and paints in the canvas. This compact mixture creates a sort of kaleidoscopic glimpses suggests opening an ambiguous landscape, with evocations and hidden scenes between an psycho organic network. It contains an environment at limit to overflow." (Santiago, Chile.)
