Un mot de l'artiste
Born in Xenia, Ohio in 1962, artist Rebecca Manns's pieces can be found in personal collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. She is an artist whose work captures the variance of the mysterious realms of the sky, nature and connection to her Native American heritage. Rebecca's fascination with art began at a young age. She continually drew and painted as a child, winning her first art competition at age 5. For years she expressed her creativity in many mediums before setting her brushes to oils. Rebecca's inspiration comes from the old and current masters and their use of light.
Understanding that light quality expresses mood and mystery, she is still developing her eye for detail, nuance and expression of light and shadow in a cohesive way.
Never painting herself into a corner, Rebecca also creates mixed media and found objects.
Rebecca's work is a response to and an exploration of the vibrancy of nature. She tries to capture the fleeting light that reveals surprises and delights us all. Beauty that we try to capture with our cameras on vacation and simple journeys' is not always revealed easily on canvas, but she feels it's always worth the try.
