I always begin my work by making sketches, and then transfer my ideas onto canvas so it can come alive with its own voice, strokes, and textures that communicate more than the initial idea ever could. I have a great attachment to charcoal, but I also work with acrylic, and oil pastel. I also explore digitally painted works that begin as scanned charcoal drawings.
My sources of inspiration are dreams, feelings born of moments and situations, songs, and outstanding encounters of everyday life. Art has always lived in me, so I hope to express, draw, paint, create and write, as this is the life I was born for.
