From my 2018 show "Chosen Objects: Merz Sideshow" Another work from my Merz Kitsch series, another scifi inspired work with an ominous view of the world. Definately relates to some sort of Alien hybrid #MerzKitsch, #Sculpture, #Merz, #Surrealism, #Dada, #Scifi, #Collage, #Assemblage, #Kitsch
In this time of a washed up TV personality having a second life as President, a bit of RNA snuggling up in our bodies long enough to kill some of us, climate change from the scientist being denied by politicians because it might hurt their bottom line, money over health, I present the Grafting of the future onto the past. Not any stranger than anything else happening in the world, but it won’t kill you now. My work reflects the strangeness of the world and gives that strangeness an opportunity to exist or become aware. A mashup of those Kitschy ceramic sculptures from your Mom’s special cabinet and lovely odd goodies from the Trash Pile. A Cabinet of Curiosities from the future, a mashup of Kitsch and Schwitters.
