Anand Sharan is a professional photographer based in Bangalore, India. A burning desire to be involved in photography full time led him to abandon his successful advertising career and plunge into professional photography. “ Though every human being is a dreamer only a few like Anand Sharan can accomplish their long cherished dream” – Asian Photography ( Sept 2001). In 2016 he won a nomination at the 9th International Color Awards. The live online gala was attended by over 10,000 photography fans around the globe who logged on to watch the climax of the industry's most important event for color photography. The international Jury included captains of the industry from Contrasto, Rome; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Whitechapel Gallery, London; DDB, Berlin; Forsman & Bodenfors, Gothenburg; Art Beatus Hong Kong; DB Agency, Milan; InStyle Magazine, New York and Kunst Haus Wien, Vienna who honored Color Masters with 591 coveted title awards and 634 nominees in 33 categories. http://www.colorawards.com/9thphotoshow/nominations.php?x=p&cid=312 In 2013 he was presented with the 8th Annual Black and White Spider Awards Nominee in the category of `People` at a prestigious Nomination & Winners PhotoShow. The live online ceremony webcast Saturday, October 19, 2013 was attended by photography fans in 75 countries who logged on to see the climax of the industry’s most important event for black and white photography. The awards international Jury included captains of the industry from the National Geographic,Tate in London, Heffel Fine Art, FoMu Fotomuseum, FTM Advisory, Camera Work, Art Stage Singapore, Aeroplastics Contemporary, Galerie Baudoin Lebon in Paris, to Fratelli Alinari in Florence. In July 2006 Saatchi Gallery ( London ) while complimenting him on his high standard of work, invited him to post his pictures on their official website.www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk International recognition came to him in 1998 when he was invited to participate in Florence Biennale. An internal jury saw Sharan`s work and approved his participation. This exhibition is sponsored by the Italian Government and UNSECO.
