Yulia Lisitsyna

Hello, everybody! My name is Yulia - je m'appelle Julie, to say it in the other of our official languages - I'm a Russian-born Canadian artist, craft-maker and art educator, residing in Ottawa. I produce fancy craft objects, experiment with water-based media and investigate different combinations of acrylics and watercolor in my paintings. I love nature, landscapes and animalistic art; having spent several years in museums ( as an artist\designer and a member of exhibitions' team), I got used to the technique named as "scientific illustration" that, actually, changed a lot in my stylistic approach. I believe that all positive vibes we try to insert and infuse in our art, should be seen, should be perceived and shared. All skills, experience and attitude I feel happy to share with my students in Ottawa School of Art. "We, artists, aren't magicians - we are just visual illusions' engineers", as one of our old profs told us a lot of times. Seems to be true.
