My "Raku" series incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji symbols, and my passion in woodworking. I use texture that resembles raku pottery; thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji symbols; and deeply saturated color - this piece is primarily white, black, with a hint of a very soft baby yellow. This painting is on 1.5" museum gallery wrapped canvas and framed in a black contemporary "floating frame". It is also wired and ready to hang. I am a contemporary and abstract artist living in southern California. My work can be seen in galleries in Laguna Beach, CA, Dana Point, CA, and La Jolla, CA. I love saturated colors & textures that make you want to touch and explore what is there. Much of my work has an Asian influence and feel. I paint for my soul and to share my work with others.
