Fait par un humain
Sandro Cocco certifie avoir créé cette œuvre à la main, sans image générée par intelligence artificielle.
This work is part of the series 'Imaginary Rooms' that I started in the beginning of november 2005, in response of a surrealistic painting in the style of Giorgio De Chirico, that I saw hanging on the wall when I visited a friend. It will be the first time that I use figurative elements in my work trying to set up a communication with the viewer. Working method: I started developing this method during model class in 1995. As I wanted to be more accurate in my model drawing I started blind drawing, This is a technique where you look at the model and you stop looking at your paper. The next logical step for me was then beginning to draw without looking at reality. From 1996 I start using 'Écriture Automatique' as my main working method. I start from a blank sheet of paper where upon I draw immediately with Indian Ink. In fact, I have no idea or plan what I'm going to create. That's exactly the state of mind that I want or need to create. I start drawing a few lines and soon a form dictates me what I have to draw next on the image to keep the composition in going. Sandro Cocco (1973), studied Painting at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp (1994-1998). After studying classical themes like model, still life, interiors by observation with oil painting, watercolours and acrylics, he discovered blind drawing during model class. Soon he started making abstract 'Amorphous' work using the technique of 'écriture automatique' (automatic writing). This resulted in sculptures, installations and video works. In november 2005 after a visit to a friend he started his series 'Imaginary Rooms' in which he uses for the first time figurative elements.
