White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end men’s violence against women and girls, promote gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity. The vision is to achieve a nation that respects women, in which every woman lives in safety, free from all forms of men’s abuse. I see this painting as inspiration to achieve this vision. The text is a quote from singer SIA’s “Fear” A concrete wall with a graffiti style stencil of a young woman. Paint has been applied with brushes and pallet knives to achieve rich texture and tones. Your painting is on a quality grade canvas on a stretcher. Staple free edges of the canvas (canvas is back-stapled). Your artwork is ready to hang - can be hung with or without a frame. Painting is signed and comes with the certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. 60cm x 60-cm x 1cm
Lesley Taylor, who signs her work pin100 (don't ask her why, she won't tell you) hopes that her sense of humour connects with you and that you enjoy her whimsical and some say 'downright odd' outlook on life as shown in her work. She says: "I feel that art should have a place not just in galleries and museums and that quality art belongs in the homes of people who appreciate and find a connection to an artist's work and passion, work that gives something of themselves, something to lift the feel of a room. My paintings tell the stories that float around in my head, with small details that reveal themselves over time. The images I create swing between abstraction and representation, memory and image and combine forces to blur the boundaries of meaning and allow you to interpret for yourself." Education Lesley was born and educated in the UK (studying English and Art at Keswick Hall, Cambridge Institute) Her life has been spent in pursuit of the arts and she finds her theatre career has helped sharpen her observations of people and their idiosyncrasies. These observations form the bones of her art work. Lesley has retired from an exhausting career in Education and Theatre, both in the U.K. and Australia. She now channels her creativity into her art. Exhibitions Being reluctant to travel these days, Lesley shows her work in regional galleries, local to her home in Macksville on the North Coast of NSW. She is glad to take her work to Art Your Space at https://www.hatch-d.com.au/pages/art-your-space ‘online gallery’ and to Bluethumb.com as an alternative.
