Since the first time I saw this art form, I have always loved the colourful mandalas painted in the temples, walls, textiles and sometimes inner ceilings. Someone once told me that Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. This art form symbolizes the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. The decision of choosing this design for ShriHari’s office was particularly because he wanted something bright and capturing for his walls. I went with the theme of infinite Galaxy and chose it to be colorful, because - Hey! What is life without a little colorful glow. I think this design, pattern and the structure allows thinkers to form a deep connection with the universe, nature and spirit. The beauty of this mandala is that it absorbs all your attention into the designs and the color structure makes your eye smile.. For me, this mandala design is associated with unlocking infinite opportunities and a mindful lifestyle. This piece, for me, is neither a thought nor an emotion, it is rather the steady conscious realization of reality's transience. It is the ground for wisdom and freedom and of compassion and love and health and some colorful bliss. I hope this piece makes your wall smile a little louder.
I am a Vancouver based artist who specializes in fusion dot mandala art but I am also experimenting with other styles. Finding things that others toss aside is where the game starts for me. I love to challenge myself and work with artwork that requires immense patience, time and which is entirely unique. For me creating art is about being able to feel free and spontaneous. I believe the artist’s hand lives on in the things that it has created. We lead with our hands, into people, new objects and places. I have always loved the idea of how things speak. The teapot can say -” Hello, please hold me this way”. To shake a hand[le] of a building before entering is a means of introduction to a new space. To touch an art at an art gallery is a way of feeling the love of the artist. And to hold a brush in the hand is a way for expressing the light and energy of creating something new, something beautiful. My goal is to convey peace and grace to my viewers, offering a moment of pause and the feeling of deep belonging. “ Stop, take a pause, look, admire, accept and cherish… with patience.” ARTIST’S TRIVIA Favorite Acrylic Color: Neon Blue & Metallic Gold Guilty Pleasure: Singing at the top of my voice while my husband works ;) Most Inspiring Trip: Maldives & Road trip through Columbia Icefield Parkway Likes: Cheese, The beach and Summer Dislikes: Cold Weather and Seafood
