Giusy Lauriola in her work interprets the feminine universe showing the sweetness, the power, the fragility, the bright colors, the sensuality, and the strength it contains. As Lauriola’s notes “ this new series of artwork is the research result via the use of resin and colors. I wanted to create transparent but hidden figures, fragile but strong, by starting from the figurative style and arriving at abstract expressionism. It’s my way of expressing the feminine state. This is the reason I call them Liquid Women. Liquid, because resin represents water and water arrives everywhere.’

She graduated with honours in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at “La Sapienza University” of Rome. Furthermore, she attended the San Giacomo Academy of Art and Crafts and the professional illustration course Pencil Art in Rome. Lauriola has exhibited in various galleries in Italy and abroad, was nominated for several awards and in 2015 received the first prize for the selection of the Pier Maria Rossi Museum. Her works can be found in private collections in Europe, United States and Singapore. After Athens she will exhibit in Shangai, Rome and New York. “Her talent is manifested through ideas and inner sensations expressed on canvas with resin at this time and in the past with Plexiglas. This is the result of the continuous research of the artist aimed to overcoming the static nature of the double dimension. Hic et nunc in the proscenium of the canvas the image never betrays its own DNA and meets the material under the aegis of color. This is how evanescent works are born, where subjects are crystallized in that undefined moment in which they are about to abandon the background. Carlo Ercoli Art Historian “
