Saint George -“Icons in Romanian clothes” (~275/280-303), celebrated on the 23rd of April. A megalomartyr Saint who, although he followed the hierarchy in the Roman army (under Diocletian), he has not disowned in any way the Christian faith. Legend has it that he killed a dragon to save a virgin. The icon pictures the fight in a living dynamic: He, standing up in his saddle, pushed in the stirrups with tight reins, and the horse is almost out of the frame, the mane and tail in the wind, and you almost can hear the sound of the bells! Everything happens behind a country fence.
EN: I always fancied the "beautiful" in general and the art in particular. Both contemplative and direct involvement in creating it. I do not know, nor do I want to know exactly how and how I did it... It is important to me that I tried to release that molecule of talent and grace that, I think, was born (!) RO: Am cochetat dintotdeauna cu “frumosul”, in general, ?i cu cel din art?, in particular. Atât contemplativ, cât ?i prin implicare direct? în a-l crea. Nu ?tiu ?i nici nu vreau s? cuantific exact cât ?i cum am reu?it... Important pentru mine este c? am incercat sa eliberez acea molecula de talent ?i har cu care, cred eu, m-am n?scut (!)
