This is one of my smaller works in a diamond-shape format and it glows in the dark after being exposed to light for approximately 1 minute. It is made purely of textile, surfaced with a minimal quantity of gold metallic paint. The symbol is made of a different type of fabric to its background colour and painted in luminescent paint.
Hey Friends! I am Ayesha Martin from Trinidad and Tobago. I am the creative behind TexarT, which is the term I use to describe Textile Art made in Trinidad & Tobago. I use textile/fabric/cloth to create. In the beginning I used to buy cloth but later began "greening" the process by using unwanted fabric from the local seamstress. Then I surface some of the work in acrylic paint. For variety I use luminescent paint.
