"The stars above" by Ageliki, 40X90cm, oil on stretched canvas, "A World Beyond" Collection "A World Beyond" series, is about myths, folklore, concepts and fairytales. Knowledge lost in the depths of time and modern science's persistent and permanent noise. But every now and then, sparkles emerge from the human gene memory, making people wondering for hidden truths. NEREIS or Nerines were Nereus daughters were regarded by the ancients as marine nymphs of the Mediterranean. They are described as lovely divinities, and dwelling with their father at the bottom of the sea, and they were believed to be propitious to all sailors, and they were worshipped in several parts of Greece. The epithets given them by the poets refer partly to their beauty and partly to their place of abode. Six asteroids were named after 6 nereids and that’s the inspiration for the specific painting: These divine creautures resting under the stars. The painting is on streTched canvas Varnished and signed Ready to hang (though it would look great with a frame} Ships professionally packaged in cardboard box Certificate of authenticity and tracking number provided.
I am Ageliki from Greece. None of my studies completed me till I started painting. Art is my main occupation since 2011. My studio is located at Mitika Prevezis, a small paradise by the sea at western Greece. I love to paint beauty, wherever I can find it. I use mostly oil colors, though a few times I start a theme with acrylics. My paintings are usually on stretched canvas, so you can hang them as soon as you get them, unless you want to put a frame. When you buy a painting from me, you get a unique, original, signed artwork. My artworks can be found at private collections at Europe, Australia, USA and Middle East. I keep looking, searching, experimenting since I believe that art, as much as every kind of knowledge, is an internal and eternal processing.
