About
Since 2014 Inès Laforge has worked in a former barn in Kamouraska, where the river already looks like the sea. Her large canvases dry for weeks, leaning against the beams. Each painting gets up to forty layers, laid with a knife. The studio opens its doors twice a year.
Artist statement
I paint the moment the light hesitates. Between the river and the sky. Just before everything turns blue.
